Shiraz / Syrah Tasting Notes

Two names for the same red grape. Syrah is best expressed in the Rhone Valley in France in a cool climate
whereas Shiraz is a newer name started in Australia and is a bolder, fuller-bodied wine thanks to the warm

DNA testing reveals it’s an offspring of Dureza and Mondeuse
Blance, French varietals found in Rhone Valley of France.

Syrah transaltes to “Princess” in Arabic.

While referred to as Shiraz in Australia/South Africa, the
rest of the world refers to its French monkier, Syrah.
